What is going on in China? and how it affects me

So as you can see, from all my pictures, my hair pretty much lives in braids. I mean I guess this is the third time I am braiding my hair back to back without giving it any room to breathe. Why you ask? Well, for starters, I am not a morning person. I am the last consultant to get into work everyday simply because I dont do too well in the mornings. Everyone goes in at 7:30/8 but I get in at 9:05 everyday.... sad but thats the truth. I've tried to go to sleep early but what ends up happening is me staring at the ceiling for hours or even if I do happen to sleep early, I wake up earlier than normal say 3 AM and I cant sleep till 5 which obviously means I would be late the next day. Imagine if I then decide to wake up and have to take care of my hair.... That won't work now, would it? I probably won't get in before 10 AM and that has to be a big no no.

So anyway, I am on vacation this week and I decide to get my braids re-done. I get to the beauty supply store only to find out that the bag of human hair that I buy for 27.99 is now 43.99. I was like surely this is a typo. worst case, it will be 33.99. The lady is ringing me up and I almost passed out. she was serious, price of hair has gone up... Why I asked, she said, they get their hair from China and something is going on over there. So I call my partner in crime to find out what is going on in China? Yowo, what is going on in China? I feel like I have something to ask them when I get there next month :).... Or maybe I need to add hair as part of my must buy items :)

I am learning that something about international travel makes me more aware of events going on everywhere at least in the places I have visited and I plan on visiting and in general, it just makes you smarter. I noticed on yahoo news an article about water trouble in China (summary is that a current shortage of water due to some contamination) and I sent an email to Yowo. She mentioned what I was thinking.... thats the reason why hair is expensive, there is no water to wash the hair in order to package it. She was offering to round up a few people to cut their hair so that I can get free hair for my braids :)... Yeah she was kidding but it was still funny :)
