My First Entry

So, I’ve toyed with the idea of writing/creating my own blog and for the life of me, I thought why? I’m too shy? I would rather listen to stories than share stories but there are just so many things going on and for some reason, I want to capture those precious ideas, thoughts and experiences. I feel as though it’s easier for me to actually dump them down on computer/email/website than to actually write them down in a journal.

Anyway, in the words of Jay Z “Allow me to Introduce myself my name is” …………………Edyth…. I would tell you my last name but for those of you wonderful non Nigerians you wont remember or better yet wont be able to pronounce it… so lets leave it at that.. Edyth.. You know like "Madonna".

My Goals for this year
Fly more – As if I don’t get enough of that due to the nature of my job but I mean actually travel, like go somewhere out of the U.S. For starters Europe is what the plan is for this summer. If I can squeeze in another trip this year, that would be awesome. The only drawback is that I don’t know anyone else who is up for all this crazy traveling that I am planning/dreaming of. I’m going to have to plan it and make it happen.

In all of my desires to travel I had to have my mid year review with my career counselor, I decided that I do not want to get extended on my current project and I think I am done with testing for a while(I've been the test lead on multiple engagements for 3 years now). I told her I want to be closer to home as I am already done with California (I’ve been in California for approximately 8 months now and besides my flight is 3.5 hours one way. She thought that was a good idea and she is now plotting to send me to the East coast, somewhere warm…. Miami she said and I thought nice but then I started thinking about it, summer is almost here and I’m not sure I would survive the humidity in Miami. Either way, towards the end of my mid year check, I told her I would like an international project. She goes… “I got it Edyth, you want to be closer to home on an international project” yeah, we cracked up on that. I think if there is a good role somewhere in Europe for 2 – 3 months then definitely I would take that option, if not a local project with the possibility of a few international trips for 2 – 3 weeks and coming back home sounds attractive. We’ll see... I’ll keep you all posted.
I just need to survive this project first….
