So yeah, It was about 8 PM, I was chilling, chilling, minding my business... (Okay enough of the movie and song deal for one night). I was still at work (hence the minding my business) and I just got off thephone with a friend when I felt like someone was shaking my cube wall from the other side. I remember saying "stop doing that".. little did I know I was talking to an earth quake. Obviously it didnt stop. Then I noticed that the chains that hang from the window that you use to control the blinds started to move and finally I felt like I was standing in a pool and everyone was swimming past me so my body started to rock back and forth (or was it back, back, forth and forth)... Okay seriously.. Then it dawned on me, wait, I am in California, these people have earth quakes, oh my goodness, its an earthquake so Is started to think what am I supposed to do, duck, hide, go under my desk but I guess I was in shock and before I could make a move, it was over. People normally say that it only lasts for a few seconds, I felt this one went on for a while though. Anyway, I checked on some of my friends in the area and apparently it was big in San Jose a good 60 miles from me and some people in other areas did not feel it.
I was a little scared to go back to my hotel. I would hate to have to evacuate from the ninth floor. Anyway, Its all over, I am okay but gosh, I dont think I would want to leave in San Francisco anymore. Yeah, I could be a chicken and I understand that every area has its natural disasters.. Tornadoes and fires in Texas, earthquakes and fires in California. hurricanes in Florida, Snow everywhere up North and so on. But still.....
