Last weekend, I stayed in San Francisco in order to explore the city and spend some time with a couple of my friends (Two brothers - Femi and Ebun). The three weekends I've stayed behind in San Francisco have been great and I think this one, by far, was the best. On Friday, we went out for a light dinner and met up with 2 of their friends(who are really cool people). After a long day at work, thats all I could manage and Femi who flew in from Dallas was tired because of the 2 hr time difference.
Saturday, we decided to go cycling. I was excited because I've been thinking about that for a few weeks now and it's something I have not done in at least 9 years. So we walked to Ebuns house about 4 blocks and then we walked to the place to rent bikes about 15 blocks(Ebun's idea). By the time we rented the bikes, I was exhausted but still excited to be doing what I wanted to do all along. Our bike tour included riding along the beach, across the Golden Gate Bridge, into Sausalito and then taking a ferry back to the Fisherman's Wharf to return the bikes.
As you can imagine, I'm the only one in shape so you can see from the many pictures that I was ALWAYS in the lead :). Okay so I lied, I was always behind but dang, there were people on the road, cars were passing by, we had to go uphill and then down hill and then I was tired after all the walking around and the bike seat was not comfortable. Okay enough with the excuses you get the point. I was out of shape. I enjoyed the tour, got to take some more cool pictures of San Francisco and I think for the first time, I realized that I could actually consider living in the city.
You can imagine how sore I was the next day. We ended up walking to Union Square to people watch/have me freak the birds out if the came to close to me (Gosh, I am such a chicken). Finally, we went for some ice-cream at the mall and everyone met us up there. We shared our biking stories and how I was always in the lead and all my fun traits like freaking out because of birds and my best this weekend was driving down a really steep hill. The highlight on that is... I'm a Texan and there are barely hills in Texas. Someone had mentioned that you can see a dog run for miles since everything is so flat in Texas. Anyway, we were trying to find Ebun's apartment and I had to drive down this steep road. I started to freak out because I didnt expect the road to be that steep, I could not see the floor, I was thinking about driving another route, the car behind me started to honk at me and so I was forced to drive. I remember thinking, I'm not going to make it, I'm not going to make it :). I ended up driving down and I made it. That reminds me, I need to find a new route to Ebun's.
In summary, this was another fun San Francisco weekend and I had a blast.

The hill, I get. The birds, I don't. And yes, you were always in the lead.
If we were going backwards.
