This weekend was amazing. I really think that events and things happen for a reason. I was all bummed out that I missed my flight home to Dallas on Friday morning. Even though I didnt have too much planned save for Ade K's birthday (Happy Birthday Ade). I wanted to catch up on some personal reading but nothing I could not do from here (San Francisco). A good number of my coworkers had initially planned to be in town and had tried to convince me to stay but for some reason I was all keen on going home.
Anyway, as we normally do, the team went out for dinner and drinks on Thursday night and we decided to go dancing afterwards. At 11:30 we (the Dallas crew) left for the airport. This weekend only 2 of us were going home. Construction on bay bridge meant that we would have to drive through the city and thats where everything got out of hands. We ended up getting to the American Airlines stand at 12:56 AM and our flight left at 12:55 AM(This is the same flight that is always delyaed). My coworker friend, John, decides that he would stay but I was torn between the 2. The rain in Dallas helpedme decide to stay in San Francisco and I am glad I did.
We all stayed in downtown San Francsico. By the way, this is an awesome place to shop. All my favorite stores exist here and so that was fun. I spent most of Friday shopping or should I say buying. I had to do some shopping since I only plan for 1 week when I fly. and that took up most of my Friday. Men!!!! In as much as I love to shop it was hard to shop this weekend. I guess it was because I actually needed to buy things and I thought that was enough pressure. It was also good timing since there were all kinds of sales going on this weekend.
I stopped at the Union Square. Its a nice spot especially because the weather was perfect, all I needed was a good book and I could see myself there for hours. I met up with Leah who was also shopping and we got to spend some time together talking and that was fun. Dinner with the guys and Yowo was cool. Then we went to the "W" hotel at their club XYZ.. Really nice lounge.
Saturday we all woke up late and had a late lunch at the Cheesecake Factory (At the top floor of Macys) excellent view of the city from here. Went back to bed and later on went dancing with the group(8 of us) .. Vessel, Liquid and some other club. I cant remember the name and that has to be a good thing considering this one stray guy came up to me and asked me if he could go home with me. I was like huh..... No thanks.
Okay so I didnt take pictures because it felt weird. I took pictures when I was on vacation here and since I pseudo live here I felt it would be strange to act as a tourist.... I should have though, we had some really nice views.
Fun places to check out in SF...
Fishermans Wharf - Nice sea food restaurants.
Tour of Alcatraz (Island Prison) or around it I should say :)
Golden Gate Bridge and Bay Bridge are nice to see especially at night when they are lit up.
Union Square
Shops are everywhere so shop :)
