Barcelona - (Home of Ronaldinho II)

So I woke up first and I was like, what the crap... it's raining. I started thinking, yeah maybe we had flaws in our plan. We only have 2 days each in Barcelona and Paris and so if anything at all interrupted our schedule then we would not get to do much. For example, what if any of our flights got delayed? We were pretty much screwed so... Lesson #1 , spend at least 3 - 4 days anywhere I'm visiting .... at least...

So I wake Bola and Soji up and while we are all freshening up... Soji decides to go get some flip flops since we all have to walk around. He comes back with a sad look on his face and we find out that not only is it raining outside but it is May 1st. I'm like so what does that mean. Apparently May 1st is Labor day for most countries in the world. What does that mean, a lot of restaurants and shops will be closed. Lesson #2 - check holiday schedules of the places I am visiting before I buy plane tickets. We were still destined to make the most of the trip but the rain wasnt helping, I looked into getting rental cars so that we could at least drive around but they were closed. We decided that as soon as the rain lets up, even if its for 5 mins, we would be going out. Lesson #3 - Always travel with optimistic and fun people, it makes things easier on you. So thank God I got that right. Anyway, we head out to La Rambla...

The journey begins. We get there and I was excited that there were many people out on vacation and a good number of shops were opened... so yay, we didnt pick a bad day after all, we end up looking around, shopping, taking pictures and buying souvenirs.

I got a list of must see places from Dayana who I met at Accenture training. Sucks that I could not synch up with her because she was out on vacation. We end up seeing La Rambla, Catalunya, Port Olimpic, the mall close to it and the beach. Sagrada Familia was under construction so we didnt make it there and for some reason we dropped off Casa de Gaudi from our list. La Rambla was fun, there were some acts on the street - 1) Some guy doing some football (soccer) stunts, since I love football, it was cool. 2) A hip hop group dancing 3)Some statue guy in a custume that was scaring people if they got too close to him. By the time we got through all of this, we were exahausted so we stopped for lunch and then went back to nap. Woke up later and went clubbing. The nightlife here is amazing, there is a long strip of clubs near the port olimpic. Different clubs playing different types of songs and the best part is its free to get in. I guess they plan to make their money off drinks. So we walk in and out of the clubs depending on if they were jamming or not and we were there till about 4 am... I had a blast and I have some pictures to prove it. Finally made it back home and pretty much freshened up and headed to the airport. We had an early morning flight to Paris.
